Students will have the opportunity to participate in the technical challenge at conference, which tests the 5 technical skill sets below. Teams are scored on their form, accuracy, and timing in the competition.  Students are encouraged to read through the manual, practice at home, and to take the on-site Workshop in Session 1, if they are new to the challenge or need instruction/practice in a particular event as there will be no "practice" runs in the formal competition this year.Â
Scoring for Tech Challenge is based on the students' accuracy, sequencing, and timing. Points are deducted for infractions. Different events require different numbers of team members. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that any team participating in the challenge access the guide for specific details on each event. The Rules and Regulations of the challenge can be found in their entirety here: 2026-2027 Technical Challenge Guide
