What is PA Playworks?
Logistics and Information...
October 1st - writing applications due
October 15th - acting, directing, editing applications due
December 1st - must be finished filming and ready to edit
December 23rd - completed Playworks video submitted
You can apply for more than one position on the application :
To be on the production team (everyone besides actors), you have to be available from 7:30pm-10pm Sundays for rehearsals.
The selected writers/production teams will discuss with the STO, adult board members and a third party to figure out how it will be executed - either as reader’s theatre or virtual production.
If you are applying to be an actor, please submit an audition video. This should consist of 2 contrasting monologues, no longer than 2 minutes.
If you want to apply to be a Director, Video Editor, Costume Designer, Set Designer or Cinematographer/Storyboard Creator: submit a 1 page resume, and 1 or 2 paragraphs on why you want to and deserve to be part of this project.
We will get back to everyone with the shows selected and whom is selected for all of the positions.
Playwrights DO NOT have to be inducted Thespians. Everyone else involved in the production Do have to be inducted Thespians.

- PA students are invited to write and submit a short play that could be presented virtually. (One playwright, not a group effort). An individual can submit more than one play. Several plays will be selected by the STOs to be rehearsed, recorded and presented at the Virtual State Conference.
- PA Thespians are invited to audition and submit applications to be an Actor, Director, Video Editor, Costume Designer, Set Designer or Cinematographer/Storyboard Creator for these virtual plays.
- An adult committee from the Conference Board will select and assign actors, directors, costume designers, scenic designers and video editors to work on and record each show (STO will serve as Producers for these shows).

- Writers are asked to keep their plays in the 4-10 minute range, with a cast of 1-4 students.
